Friday Finds is a new section where I will pass on to you one product, blog, website or other item that strikes me as worth sharing. And, you guessed it, I’ll be adding to this list of little treasures every Friday. Usually these posts will be web, graphics or photo related, but you never know what may catch my eye. Did you find something worth sharing? Feel free to send an email or leave a comment with suggestions for future Friday Finds features. (Try saying that three times fast!)
Today’s find is Rahzo, a company that cleverly combines graphic design, fashion and charity. Rhazo is an online community where designers can enter artwork to be printed on clothing and coffee packaging; from there anyone can buy the products, and the proceeds go to the purchaser’s charity of choice. Right now there are four nonprofits for you to choose from: Mercy Corps, Art with Heart, Relay for Life, and National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Available garments include sweatshirts, hats and t-shirts in both cotton and bamboo. I’m thinking the ‘Roots Grow Deep’ shirt would look terrific on my sister…definitely bookmarking it as a potential birthday gift. (Not to worry, she has a very short memory for secrets…she’ll read this now and still be completely surprised in June!) There are also two varieties of coffee for the java lover in your life.
Rahzo manages to support the arts, donate to those in need and provide a great product- all while keeping their prices reasonable. The company is also committed to producing their products in an eco-friendly and responsible manner. Their system relies partly on the charity of designers to submit their designs pro bono, which I think is a great way to give back once in a while. So head over to rahzo.com and check it out- supplies are limited and new designs are added fairly often.
Have a great weekend!
